A Healthy "Summer" Glow!!

Hey Readers,
I hope this post finds you well!! Earlier in the month I was contacted by the social media representative from Aloha.com who asked me if I was interested in writing a post about my tips to achieving a healthy "summer" glow all year round. While they were very happy for me to put a makeup focus on this one. At the same time they also wanted me to incorporate my favourite healthy recipe. While makeup I love and can write about. Food and cooking really isn't my strength!! Aloha however have a great section on their website for recipes!! That look so yummy even I want to try!!  So as you can probably tell by now Aloha are a company that are focused on everyone being able to lead a healthy lifestyle and their website promotes being able to do this in the most simple, easiest and honest way. Their website is really easy to navigate and has a great easy to read magazine that I have enjoyed reading over the last couple of weeks.

OK so onto my top makeup products to achieving a healthy "summer" glow all year round!!!

Now for me living in a Australia where we get summer pretty much all year round anyway,  I am always looking for a good option when it comes to protecting my skin from the sun, heat and all the other effects it can have on the skin. While tanning can give that gorgeous glow to the skin there's a fine line between brown and burnt and in all honesty neither is good for the skin any way!! At the same time though for a day of fun in the sun I want something that looks natural, protects my skin and at the same time giving me a sun kissed glow before I've left the house.

Chi Chi Super CC Cream with Caviar Extract SPF 30 Shade Medium.
After loving the BB cream in the same line I just had to try this one. It really is more than just a CC or Colour Correcting cream. It has a light to medium buildable coverage that goes on smooth, evens out your skin making it look flawless. Its also light weight and even with the SPF 30 it doesn't feel or smell like sunscreen. It gives the skin a nice beachy glow which is always nice even if your not spending a day out in the sun and it does all this without making me look too oily.

OK so these next products are for when I want a glowy look but I want to be a little more selective about it!!!!

Initially you would look at the next two products I am going to talk about and think yeah seen heaps of youtubers rave about those great for hiding dark under eye circles. At the same time most probably don't look at concealer and instantly think of glowy makeup. But trust me these two can do both.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser Concealer 10 Fair.
OK so I have raved on about this enough over the years so I won't go on too much more but I have to say great for covering dark under eye circles and brightening up the under eye area. At the same time it has gotten a little bit too light over time particularly when I am a bit tanned so I love applying this over lightly applied foundation cheek bones, a little above the brows, down the centre of the nose, cupids bow and on the chin. A great matte highlight but blended out with a little more foundation gives you look a great glow from within. The sponge tip makes it so easy to apply and the product itself is so creamy and blendable.

Rimmel Match Perfection 2 in 1 concealer and highlight in 060 Natural Beige.
Like the maybelline instant rewind this concealer is great for under the eyes and because the colour matches my skin tone a little better,  I love just applying it to the areas I want highlighted blending out when I am on the go. It just gives a soft highlight to the skin that looks natural and its brush application makes it so easy to use.

Now you all know by now that I love a good multitasking make up product and these next three do just that. They add colour, warmth and of course glow to any makeup look they stand alone as well as pair well with others and two of them are great not only on the face but dusting down your neck and decolletage as well!!!

Youngblood Mineral Raidance in the shade Sundance
This is a gorgeous blush, bronzer and highlight that adds just a beautiful warm glow to any makeup look. It is shimmery but it isn't too overpowering. As you can see in the photo it is well loved and I love it particularly because you can customise the shade easily dipping your brush into just one or two of the colours but I do also love them swirled together. It is quite pigmented and at the same time easily blended. Which is also great along the decolletage area for a bit of extra glow on a night out.

Me Me Me Goddess Rocks Luxury Bronzing Rocks
These are gorgeous little pebbles of gold, copper and bronze that used with a fluffy brush give a perfect all over glow to the face and body. I love the glow that it gives and great when you just want a simple sweep of something all over the face. They are a little glittery and powder can get all over the bathroom bench but the finished look is worth it.

Maybelline FaceStudio Master Highlight Hi-Lighting Blush in the shade 30 Coral
I have not owned this for long but I include it as its the first blush highlight I have been instantly impressed with in a long time. Its got just enough blush/highlight mix that it gives the perfect amount of colour and highlight to the cheeks not too overpowering with shimmer or pigmentation easy to apply and great for everyday.

Now the last product I want to talk about before this post gets too long!! Is the quickest and easiest way to add a natural glow  to your makeup I have found yet.

Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter
This little pencil from Chella is so easy to use and its pencil application is accurate and easy to apply the product itself is quite creamy and easy blend out even if its just with your fingers!! When I am in a rush or just want an instant brightening to my makeup I love applying this to the inner corners of the eyes and a little on the cheeks blended out. It also pairs well with bronzer for an easy highlight contour look.

So that ends this post on my top products for a healthy summer glow I hope you enjoyed reading as much as I have enjoyed writing this one. Thanks to Aloha.com for asking me to write this one. Don't forget to check out their website!! Until next post happy reading and happy shopping!!

The Parcel by Marie Claire Special Anniversary Edition

Hey Readers,
I hope this post finds you well!! This weekend I am here with the new edition of the parcel by Marie Claire. Now I know I should be saying that this is the Spring edition but this month month/year Marie Claire magazine has turned 20 and to celebrate they not only have launched a special edition of the magazine but also have created a special edition of the parcel. As I too have a birthday this month I was really excited to receive this one and could not wait to open it to see what was inside.

Now I just have to say that after looking at all these products I did have a sense that I had seen this all before!! Its not that I have received this products in another box nor have I purchased any of them previously BUT they are all advertised in the birthday edition of the magazine so I thought I would use the magazine as my backgrounds for all my pictures this post (I hope Marie Claire don't mind) and I hope you like the new backgrounds too!!!

Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum received a 10ml deluxe sample full size is 30ml
This serum is said to be a multi tasker that can understand your skins needs and is able to provide custom damage repair. Able to help reduce inflammation, wrinkles. Repair uneven skin tone and dullness. Interested to try I have been thinking it would be nice to find a product that helps all those skin issues I certainly have redness and uneven areas that could use some help.

Loreal Paris Colour Riche Lipstick received one in the shade 377 Perfect Red
Its a Happy 30th Birthday to Loreal this year and earlier this year to celebrate they have released 30 colour riche lipsticks in 3 different finishes (satin, matte and cream). I received 377 Perfect Red which is a gorgeous bright and bold red. Not being a lipstick wearer it is a bit bright for my liking but I will probably be able to find it a good home.

St Tropez Gradual Tan in Shower received a 50ml deluxe sample full size is 200ml.
This is the first ever in shower tan!!! It promises a streak free, gradual glow that also hydrates. Ok you know my deal by now I don't fake tan as a general rule but I have to say this stuff I want to give a try I am very interested to see if it works and if it does I feel its the perfect solution for some one like me who won't really take the extra time to fake tan or that time poor person who needs a quick fix!!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner received a 250ml tube of each.
This shampoo and conditioner combination is said to help block frizz whilst in the shower. Enriched with olive oil this said to smooth strands, replenish moisture and help hair to defend against humidity. Have not tried a John Frieda shampoo or conditioner before so happy to be able to give it a try also happy that its more that just a sachet sample my hair is quite long at the moment so its nice to have enough sample to cover all my hair.

MOR Rosa Noir Hand and Body Milk received a 50ml deluxe sample full size is 500ml
This hand and body milk combines shea butter and macadamia oil to deeply nourish the skin. The scent is a combination of wild rose, hibiscus and fig. Interested to see what this is like and I am also hoping that the scent isn't too strong being a milk I am also hoping its a little lighter than a general moisturiser as coming into the warmer weather I tend to prefer a lighter option.

Redwin Coconut Balm received a full size 25g
This is a 100 percent certified organic coconut oil balm. This is another multi tasking product as it says it will help repair dry hands, heal elbows and lips. Soothe cuts, burns and insect bites. Interested to try once again hoping the scent isn't too strong I don't usually choose coconut scented products.

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge EDP received a 1.5ml spray sample full size is 50ml.
This is a new feminine fragrance from Estee Lauder that combines red roses with ripe fruit and velvet creme.  First impressions of this one is its quite a soft scent not too sweet and not too over powering.

So that ends the contents of this parcel and I am excited to try everything out. And cannot wait till the next one. I hope you are having a good weekend and until next post Happy reading and happy shopping!!!

August/September Favourites

Hey Readers,
I hope this post finds you well. Originally I thought I was getting in early as I wrote most of this post half way through last month but sadly my wedding planning took over and I was never able to add pictures and have this post go live. So I thought I would add a few products that I have been loving from this month and just tell you about all the stuff I've been loving from both August and September!!!!

Maybelline 24hour Color Tattoo in the shade 25 Bad to the Bronze

This has been my go to shadow since I bought it and its one product that has left me wondering what I did before I owned it. It just the perfect all over lid colour that is so easy to apply. The product is soft and creamy and blends easily over the lid just with your fingers so simple and liner mascara and your out the door!!! It also pairs well with most of the other eyeshadows in my collection, it also lasts all day and is fairly easy to remove.

Essence I Love Nude Eyeshadows in the shades 05 My Favourite Tauping and 04 Sweet Like Chocolate.

I bought these after seeing them advertised by essence via instagram. I've always enjoyed essence shadows and was interested to see these as there are a a mix of matte, satin and shimmer finishes in the range. My favourite tauping is a matte taupe shade that is very similar to tease from the urban decay naked 2 palette just slightly more brown. It makes for a great overall lid colour when wanting a completley matte look and a great transition shade as well. Sweet like chocolate is a bronzey brown that has a satin finish. While it does pair well with the other shadow it also holds its own for an easy one shadow look. I really love how easy these shadows are to apply, their pigmentation and they're reasonably travel friendly as you can see by the pic the print on the top has worn away quite easily.

Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter

I was actually gifted this one via a bellabox promotion on facebook allowing you to choose an extra product for your bellabox. To be honest even though I replied I hadn't thought I would actually manage to get something extra as usually with these things its limited amounts to go around. I was lucky enough to get this extra to my last BB. I had been wanting to try since receiving the contour version of this product in a previous bellabox. I have to say now though that I have actually used this product more than the contour one. Together they make a great pair and I have been really trying to perfect contour and highlight of late but this highlighter is just the perfect shade not too gold and not too white. Its smooth to apply, blends easily and is also matte so no glitter particles. It not only makes a great face and cheeks highlight its also great for the inner corner.

Lucas Papaw Ointment

This has always been a go to for me and I have raved about this many times before but I recently picked it up with the lip applicator and I haven't looked back since. It just makes the product so easy to distribute over your lips and is way less messy than using a finger to apply. I also find the smaller size tube has made it a bit more pocket friendly.

Anatomicals the buff stuff citrus body scrub.

This was a impulse purchase while in Target one day I didn't really need a body scrub but something drew me in and next thing I knew I couldn't wait to try it. The smell of this one is just so citrusey (not a word I know) and the buffing particles while a little rougher than I am used to they aren't too harsh and scratchy and they leave your skin feeling so soft and smooth.

Lorraine Lea Microfibre Face Cloth.

I had discovered a long time ago that a microfibre cloth is a great option for taking makeup off. Introduced to the cloths via a beauty box it was given to us as a way of removing unwanted fake tan from the skin as I don't fake tan and wasn't going to start. I tried it one night to remove my makeup and it worked perfectly. It was many year later and earlier this year that I was  re introduced to these cloths via Lorraine Lea and I really haven't looked back since. It really is a great way of removing a hard days makeup simply with water and they really do make it easy to remove everything off your face including liner and mascara. In winter especially it has been nice as you can be in a warm shower and apply the warm cloth to your face to not only melt away a days makeup but also relax after a hard day. Now I have to say that they do get quite dirty and it seems that once it has a hold of your makeup using water alone does not wash it all out so I do recommend using you shower gel or shampoo once your done so it clean to reuse the next night.

Models Prefer MPA101 Airbrush Foundation Brush
This has been my go to brush so far this month and given I am a bit lazy with washing my makeup brushes over the last month it has been a bit of a re discovery given they are all now clean and ready to use again. This brush is really an all rounder don't be fooled by the airbrush foundation title. It is prefect for foundation application, apply and blending product flawlessly. But its also great for blending out concealer and buffing in powder as well. It also double nicely for bronzer its the perfect fit for me for contour as well being small enough to add blush to your look. I love the softness of the bristles and the fact that the brush isn't too heavy making it easy to handle.

Sigma E25 Blending brush.
Again a go to this month. The E25  was my first ever Sigma brush so I guess I am a bit bias when I say I love it and when admit that I like it so much I actually own two!! I love using this for applying shadows to the crease but this month I have discovered just how good it is for cream shadows both application and blending. This brush is small and dence enough for me to pick up cream shadow sweep all over the lid but fluffy enough to be able to blend out and into the crease have love this for a quick eye shadow look of a morning!!!

Ok so that ends the favourites for August and September I hope you enjoyed it.
Until next post Happy reading and Happy shopping!!
