Empties Hits and Misses #6

Hey Readers,
I hope this post finds you well. Today I am back with another empties posts!!! I have been cleaning out my makeup room/office in the name of spring (or winter as it is here) and I decided that it was time for this pile of empties its time to go!!! As usual I have split this post into hits and misses. I hope you enjoy

Hits
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in the shade 10 Fair
I love love love this concealer not only in this shade but also in the Medium!! Its so good easy to apply and blend, It light on the skin and its long lasting. I love the light mainly over the medium or another concealer to highlight and its great as an eyeshadow base being so light it makes shadows pop!! Sadly having so many concealers on the go at one time has meant this one has been in the background a little too long now so it needs to go but I will eventually repurchase.

OGX Brazilian Therapy Shampoo
I think a bottle of  this brand shampoo has featured in all my empties posts and I still am enjoying it and I think I am slowly working my way through the different versions. This one while aimed at a user who has curly or wavy hair. I picked it up as I liked the scent. As someone that has straight hair it still works really well and I loved it as it did help keep my locks smooth and flyaway free.

Daiso MakeupBrush Cleaner
This is another repeat offender in my empties posts and so I won't go on to long!! Still amazing for cleaning brushes and makes light work when you have a lot to wash at once. I also have backups on hand which is probably why a lot of times its hard to get but if your in Daiso its a must to pick up and try!!!

Kosmea Moisturising Shower Gel
This has been in my collection for the longest longest time due to the fact I stocked up before the company discontinued it many many years ago. I'ts sad as I still haven't found another product thats as good. For a shower gel thats based on all natural ingredients it foams better than any I have ever tried and doesn't have an overpowering scent. I enjoy the fact that its easy to use and light on the skin. I am very sad to see this go :(

Youngblood Pressed Mineral Foundation in Neutral
I've enjoyed this brand of makeup for many years now and this compact has faired me well for quite some time. Being a small compact with a mirror this has always been great for travel or a night out when clutch space is small!! The shade neutral is also great for touch ups taking down shine but not adding colour to you face and changing the look of your makeup. Being finely milled, light on the skin and rice based its also great setting powder and perfect for oil control.

Misses
Revo Lipbalm
This lip balm was one of the first ball type lip balms I have ever used and while these often come with great reviews I am not impressed. The scent is overpowering and sickly sweet the balm itself I found just makes you lips feel greasy and it doesn't actually feel like its mointurising the lips at all. Not a fan and I won't be repurchasing.

Nyx Pore Filler
Like most pore filling primers they promise the world and don't really deliver and I really haven't found a primer yet that I actually feel really does the job. But what dissapointed me most about this is its not even a good primer usually these primers will at least extend the longevity of a my makeup but this causes more slipping and splitting of my foundation.

Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation in 75 Natural Beige
As I have such a love for their concealers I try every foundation with the want to really love it but I have given this foundation so many tries and I just now have to say no!! Its mousse texture makes this quite thick and so using a buffing brush was really the only way I could apply without it looking thick and cakey. While the longevity is pretty decent on most areas of my face but I didn't find that it lived up the the claims of being hydrating and its matte finish on my combo skin was short lived I constantly would have to touch up throughout the day to get a full work day from my makeup.

So that ends my empties. While I am kinda glad to be getting rid of this lot but no doubt that I will soon have a pile to replace it!! Hoping that you enjoyed reading this post. Until next time happy reading and happy shopping

Favourites!!

Hey Readers,
I hope this post finds you well. Recently I have noticed that there have been a few products that I have been using a lot lately and so I thought it was a good opportunity to gather them together and write my first favourites post for the year!!

Benefit The Pore Fessional Matt Rescue
I picked this up duty free when I recently went overseas. I have always been intrigued to try this one even though I didn't completely love the original one. None the less this times a great primer. Being a gel its so quick and easy to spread across your skin, it also dries quickly and doesn't leave a sticky residue. It definitely helps to keep makeup matte as well as last longer I definitely do less touch ups when I use this before foundation application.

Model Prefer BB All in One Healthy Glow in the shade Medium

I have mentioned before that I have been on the hunt for a lighter option when it comes to base. Something light on the skin, with decent coverage but easy to apply. This BB is my most recent purchase and I have been really enjoying the results. Easy to apply and light on the skin and a decent amount of coverage. It also gives a bit of a glow and colour to the skin not leaving you looking flat as if you'd only applied foundation and nothing else. Longevity isn't a full day but its great for when you want to apply and go.

NYX Wonder Stick in the shade Universal

For most of this year I have had a small obsession with cream contour sticks ever since I discovered the maybelline versions I wanted to try more. I picked this up as I was interested to see what a universal colour would be like as opposed to a light or dark version. I like this as the contour leaves a natural look and the highlight isn't overally shimmery. Easy to apply and blend its great for everyday and perfect paired with bronzer for a glam night out!!

Avon Super extend Winged Out Mascara
While my original intention was to pick this up to try for a mascara madness post but I have been enjoying it too much to wait!! From first application this mascara has been hard to not keep picking up. It is just so easy to apply and get perfect fluttery lash results every time. The brush has a slight tapper and short bristles so every lash is captured and coated all while fanning lashing out leaving them separated and fanned out. It also a great formula not to wet or dry and doesn't leave your lashes sticky. Great for everyday!!

Natio Face and Eye Palette Colourways of Nature in the shade Glow

I was so excited for this palette when it came out and I have to say initally I was a little dissapointed. But I couldn't just put it in a draw I had to give it another go so I took it with with on my recent travels overseas and then I used it once. So I made an effort in the last month to use it and I have to say my thoughts are changing. The eyeshadows are the real stars here I know there isn't many of them but its just enough to put quick and simple eye looks together and being neutrals they all pair well. Pigmentation is medium but they apply well and blend easily which for mornings when I have been running late for work I really appreciate. Its also fairly compact and travels well.

Chi Chi Cosmetics Metallic Automatic Eyeliner in the shade Show Me the Money
I have owned this liner for a very long time and sadly Chi Chi have now discontinued it which is a shame as this formula is really good!! These liners are easy to apply glide on,  are pigmented and long lasting. The shade Shadow me the money is quite a bright green but gives a gorgeous pop of colour when you want something to brighten up your day but don't want to have to do a lot to get it.

Maybelline Master Drama The Nudes in the shade 22 Brownie Glitz
This was a random purchase during the last Priceline 40% off cosmetics I didn't even know at the time that these existed and I was curious and I think I have said this before but these liners are AMAZING!!! Every use I still cannot believe that these are so easy to apply, so so creamy, pigmented and long lasting. And even with the glitter at the end of the day they are easily to remove. I am crossing my fingers that they extend this range.

Target Eye Makeup Remover Pads
OK so I have to be up front to say that I never bought these for the use that they are intended but instead simply to clean makeup from my hands quickly or wipe a brush occasionally to quickly clean. I didn't hold high hopes as to be honest for $2 a pack usually quality of a product isn't high. However these proved me wrong!! I no longer have to worry about foundation on the back of my hand or seeing remnants of liner swatches all day at work I never find my hands are left dry and chapped due to an alcohol base drying them out or due to then being too wet. They are a great time saver.

So that ends my favourites for this year so far!! I hope you enjoyed it. If you have any favourite recommendations please let me know I love trying new things!! I also hope that if you are wanting to try something new this post gives you inspiration. So until next time Happy reading and happy shopping.
