May Favourites

Hey Readers,
Hope this post finds you well!!! It's the end of the month!!! It's been a busy month and its seems that May has gone really quickly!!! While I have been enjoying a fair few products this month and it wasn't till I started taking photos I realised I have been enjoying a lot of eye shadow this month!!! Overall though it has been a great month for trying new things as well as pulling out a few things from the collection!!!

Maybellline New York My Shadow Single Eyeshadow in 125
This was a find earlier in the month when I was re arranging my makeup collection. 125 is a light champagne coloured shadow that I picked up for a couple of dollars months ago at Priceline. At the time I had heard a lot of good things about these shadows, although I didn't really need another neutral eyeshadow I still wanted something I would use and that would complement the rest of my eyeshadow collection and it has gotten a lot of use this month. Its great as an overall lid colour on its own with liner for a quick look but also does a great job as an inner corner and brow bone high light with a more complex look.

Essence All About Nude Eyeshadow in 01 Nude
This is a 6 shadow palette that was a part of the all about trend edition release from essence. This 6 pan neutral palette that contains 3 semi matte and 3 shimmer shadows that are perfect for any everyday look and being so compact fits easily into the on the go makeup bag!!! I have really enjoyed using all the shades but I have particularly been enjoying the cranberry and darker taupe shade. For an easy work appropriate look I have simply paired them with the above champagne colour  and put the darker shades into the outer V and into the crease. With a small amount of liner I'm good to go in less than five minutes. These shadows are soft buttery and pigmented they also last all day long with and without primer.

Garnier Moisture Match Mattifying Fresh Cream
If you have read my posts and review on Bellabox you will know that a while back I received a sample of a mattifying face cream. I really enjoyed using it and as it was close to finishing I went in search of something to replace it. My search lead me to finding Garniers new range and while I did scan over all the choices this one seemed perfect for me.
Not only is this cream tailored to oily combination skin keeping shine at bay using green tea extract it also offers 24 hour moisture. It absorbs into the skin quickly and has a really fresh smell and it does as it says moisturises and keeps me shine free. It makes for a great base under makeup but I also love using it on its own!!!

Real Techniques Stippling Brush
In my March favourites I spoke about my Models Prefer BB cream which by the way I am still loving!! What I forgot to add to the list was my favourite brush to apply it with!!! Originally I had bought this brush to apply cream blush but I soon found it a little too big for the exact placement of blush I desired. It was trying out a new BB cream one weekend when I found myself grabbing the only clean brush I could find to apply it!! Little did I realise its the perfect brush for BB creams and light foundations it really allows you to buff these products into the skin for a smooth and even application, as well as being able to stipple areas such as under the eyes and around the nose that require extra coverage. It also makes application really quick and easy which is the primary reason it has been such a favourite over the month.

Chi Chi Glamorous Nudes Palette
Now I know I have mentioned this before and your probably tired of me including this one and if you follow me on instagram seeing it in motd pics but I have to add it again!!! Its just such a great all round palette and I love how it suits any makeup mood I may be in. With the mix of matte and shimmer shades I can have any type of neutral eye I like and it can also be as subtle or dramatic as I wish!! The shades are soft, easy to apply and pigmented and as a general rule last all day!! Its also quite compact and fits straight into my makeup bag which is so handy for travel. (Please excuse the state of the palette in these photos it is starting to show its been well loved and is well traveled!!!)

Maybelline Color Whisper in 290 Strike a Rose
After blogging about these last month I kinda put them away this month  in order to keep trying new things and continue to push my usual no colour on the lips wearing self while I have bought a few other products it was two weeks into the month I found myself back to my makeup draws pulling out this lipstick!! While I never really liked pink as a lipstick colour this is just so wearable and easy to apply and go. Its perfect for those days you want to look a bit more glam than you really feel or want to put in the effort to look. But I also like shearing it out for a just a little bit of colour for the weekend as well.

OK so that ends the favourties for May I hope you've enjoyed reading and that it wasn't too much eye shadow overload!!! What have your favourites been this month?? Comment below I would love to read them!!! Until next months post Happy reading and Happy Shopping!!!

Bellabox May and April review

Hey Readers,
I hope this post finds you well I received my Bellabox arrived earlier in the week and I am excited to write about what I have received for May. But before I get into this months goodies I will quickly review last month.

Burt's bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
This is a gorgeous smelling balm that is so smooth and creamy. Its a cream/ointment that while takes a little bit of effort to work in leaves cuticles and hands moisturised.

Gatineu Refreshing Melting Scrub
I was interested to try this product this month but sadly it was a little disappointing the consistency wasn't as creamy as I would have liked and the scrub particles were quite large, rough and they didn't really melt into the skin. So I wasn't as impressed as I had thought I would originally be.

Dirty Works You Soft Touch Hand Cream
I know I was only slightly excited by the inclusion of a hand cream in the box but I have to say that this has been so handy. Surprisingly it fit nicely into the front of the section of my back pack and I have used it many times its so easy to apply, smooth and doesn't leave your hands feeling greasy.

Colour Therapy Eyeshadow Duo
This was the most exciting inclusion this month and was a great inclusion to my makeup kit. These two shades made for a easy eye look using the lighter shade all over the lid with the darker in the outer half and crease. It also paired well with my usual neutral palettes I really enjoyed using the darker shade in the crease and lighter shade just as an inner corner highlight.

Indio Eye Rise
This was a really nice inclusion to my routine this month. This cream is so soft and light and really mositurising. Primarily I have used it under my makeup of a morning but its also nice on its own as well.

So onto May now Bellabox have teamed up with Jetstar this month and given the box the theme of Come Fly with Me. They have included not only some travel friendly products but a few international brands that I am excited to try.

Appelles Rosemary Body Bar received a full size bar of soap
After receiving so many shower and body washes opening the box to a beautifully smelling soap was a nice change. I am not generally a soap user so I am not sure if I will try this one or pass it on to someone that will enjoy it more.

Australian Bush Flower Essences Travel Skin and Space Mist received a 15ml deluxe sample full size is 50ml.
I'm not sure I have received a travel spray before and while the label on the spray says skin the card reads that this is perfect for spraying into the air during travel to help you feel balanced and ready to go. Interesting product will have to try when I travel a long distance next.

Boots Laboratories Optiva Aqua Capture Serum received a full size 30ml.
An international product with British heritage this serum says it will leave your skin looking healthy more radiant and hydrated in just two weeks. I have a few dry patches and I am also always looking for a good moisturiser so I am excited to try this one this month interested to see how it goes. I also love how BB have manged to find a product with packaging in the same colour as their boxes!! So cute!!

Wen by Chaz Dean Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner received a 60ml deluxe sachet sample full size is 480ml
This hair cleansing conditioner is designed to hydrate and replenish hair adding moisture, strength and sheen without stripping its natural oils. From the instructions on the sachet its self this seems to be a shampoo, conditioner, leave in treatment all in one so I am interested to try!!!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel in the shade clear received a 2.5ml deluxe sample full size is 7.93g
This is an exciting inclusion to the box this month. I have heard so much about this brand and how great it is so really excited to try. This clear gel says it will tame brows without leaving them stiff, flaky or sticky. It can be used on its own or post brow powder or pencil.

Invisible Zinc Tinted Day Wear SPF 30 in the shade medium received a 5g sachet full size is 50g.
This is the bonus product for the box this month and I am pretty sure I have spoken about this before. Its a great tinted moisturiser, sunscreen and zinc in one. That's easy to apply, goes under light makeup well and isn't too heavy or greasy.

So that wraps up my Bellabox for May I am excited by the box this month , excited to try these products, cannot wait to dive in and look forward to writing my thoughts for you next month!! Until then Happy Reading and Happy Shopping.

Lust Have It April and March review

Hey Readers,
I hope this post finds you well!!! My Lust Have It has arrived the April box has been a little slow getting to me but on the upside I have received some great goodies but before I get into that I will review my box from March!!!

Klara Cosmetics Kiss Proof Lips
As  a novice lip colour wearer this shade was a little too bright for me so I didn't wear this one a lot. However I can say that it is fairly comfortable on the lips and the colour does last a long time so if your looking for a bright, pigmented long lasting lip colour Klara cosmetics is for you!!!

Bloom eye definer
This was the most used product from this box this month I think I have used it almost everyday this month its so smooth and easy to apply, extremely pigmented and lasts all day long. I've enjoyed the definition it gives without being as intense as a black liner.

Orly Nail Lacquer
I really enjoyed this polish this month it made for a great top coat and accent nail. I've enjoyed pairing it with a neutral/nude under coat as well as putting it over a colour its fairly long lasting about three days before I could see wear so pretty great inclusion to my collection!!!

Chapstick Lip balm
Just the smell of this was enough to take me back to my high school days!! Overall still a great sweet smelling balm that does the job!!

Aveda Intense Hydrating Masque
It was my intention to use this one but in packing and moving I am unsure where this little tube has gone!! I will endevour to find and hopefully be able to tell you my thoughts!!

OK so onto what arrived for April...

I was excited to see my LHI box arrive this month as LHI had promised that they would finally change over to their new packaging and while they have gotten rid of the handy storage box and have changed to a pretty cosmetics bag!!! I still really enjoy the cosmetics bags from the last time LHI changed packaging.  I also prefer this style of cosmetics bag I love the clear so you can see all the products inside and it is also slightly bigger than the previous time so for some one like me who travels and wants to carry everything together this is a perfect size!!!

Glamourflage Sultry Sophie Lip/Cheek Stain received a full size 8.5ml.
Yay!! I am really excited by this inclusion I have not tried any of the Glamourflage makeup products before so I am interested to try this!! In the packaging this looks red but swatched on the back of my hand is a deep pink, its also matte so interested to see how it applies to the cheeks and wears!!!

Claytime Pure Mineral Bronzer received a full size 10g product. (*correction after reading the fine print we actually received a 3g deluxe sample not the full size product.)
Loving multiple makeup products included this month!!! This is another brand I have not used before so am interested to see how it goes. I am also loving that this looks like it could double as an eye shadow so another product that doubles as two!!

Bioderma Atoderm Nourishing Cream received a 15ml deluxe sample full size is 200ml.
This is a daily moisturising cream for the face and body. While it does say dry to very dry skin (I am oily combination) it states that moisturises, soothes and helps restructure the skin. I have a few dry patches appearing with the colder weather so I am happy to try!!!

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion received a 29ml deluxe sample full size is 225ml
Given the weather is getting cooler this is a predictable inclusion to the box this month but given its a generally good all round moisturiser and its not another hand cream inclusion I am happy to try.

Wotnot Facial Wipes for Oily/Sensitive Skin received a pack of 5 wipes full size is 25 wipes.
I have actually used the original version of these wipes before and was interested to see they had released a version for us oily combo babes so am happy to give these a try and see how they go.

Overall a really great pack for the month of April. LHI have definitely sent some great products which I am excited to try and will give my thoughts hopefully sometime this month untill then Happy Reading and Happy Shopping!!!

Maybelline Color Whispers

Hey Readers,
I hope this post finds you well. This month has been so busy that I really don't have that many favourites to talk about that this month that I haven't spoken about before, however I do have a recent purchase that I have been wanting to talk to you about for a while so I thought I would post this instead!!!

Maybelline Color Whispers

I have liked the idea of these lipsticks from the start balm like texture with just enough colour a cross between a balm and a lipstick the best of both worlds. Sadly the only colour that was available for a novice lipstick wearer like me was lust for blush. Lust for Blush is a very light pink that and with my olive complexion washed me out, so I always found myself having to mix it with a darker neutral pink colour to make it work. So when  I saw these on ozsale.com.au I snapped them up simply because the colours looked more wearable, and they had a price tag of 7 bucks!!

In regards to Ozsale while you may not like the idea of signing up to a website that sends you emails (sometimes multiple emails) everyday. I have found that from time to time you can pick up more expensive makeup cheaper, get access makeup brands that aren't easy to get, or find makeup that may have not been released in Australia.

While I had bought them I hadn't heard of these colours before so after a lot of research (Thank you Google) I found out these are apart of a limited edition set brought out by maybelline last year. That hasn't seemed to have reached our shores here in Australia. And given it has been given mixed reviews I am not sure we will. This set of six lipsticks (includes a red colour that I didn't buy sadly) weren't given a name, theme or released at a particular time that put them in a season which is quite odd for maybelline!! But despite this putting them together they definitely lend themselves to match any natural glam look!!

As I said before I didn't pick up the red shade which at the time I didn't think I would wear but given the formula I probably would have given it a try!!

The colour I did pick up are as follows:
280 Nude Night Out is a warm caramel tone with a gold glitter

285 pink bombshell light neutral pink semi gloss finish

290 Strike a rose medium pink semi gloss finish

295 plum setter purple plum tone with silver glitter

300 coral tease deep coral tone with gold glitter

Swatches L-R (Strike a rose, pink bombshell, plum setter, nude night out and coral tease)

Just like the originals these lipsticks they have cute slim line packaging, are smooth to apply with a balm like texture. Last for up to four hours and are comfortable on the lips. They are also quite pigmented and buildable. While I love the semi gloss finish and have worn most of them during the month the only con to these lipsticks would have to be the glitter factor.  I enjoy all the base colours and would love them all on their own without the glitter. Sadly it is noticeable and if your not careful does travel a little.  Despite this I have enjoyed owning some more wearable colours enjoyed and having a bit more colour on my lips. I am hoping that maybelline releases some more and brings them to Australia soon!!!

So that ends this post I hope your weekend is going well and until next time Happy Reading and Happy Shopping!!!
