September Favourites!!!

Hey Readers,
Hope this post finds you well!! September has come and gone so fast and this month has been quite busy. Early in the month saw changes to my work schedule and have seen me faced with little time to apply makeup in the morning so I have spent most of the month looking at quick and easy products to help do my makeup!!! I also made a small decision that its time I look at my makeup collection and sort the true loves from those just ok products. So I have been trying once again to shop my stash more rediscovering old favs, finding quick to apply products and starting to sort items that may just be ready to find a new home!!! These are the few products that have stood out this month

Maybelline New York Super Stay 24hr Makeup
This has been my go to foundation this month I have loved it from first try!! I know I raved in my last post but I just have to tell you about this again!! I picked this up around the same time as Maybelline's other new foundation the Super Stay Better skin. Thinking it would be interesting to compare the two but also thinking that the Better Skin would be the pick. While I liked the Better skin initially I realised after trying the 24hr that the Better skin takes a lot more work to get right and I find it doesn't last on my skin. So formula and application wise the 24hr wins hands down!! It just such a smooth foundation to apply, a little bit goes a long way and buffed into the skin the finish is flawless!! Its a medium coverage and you can build if you need to. It feels light on the skin, lasts all day. I get reasonable oil control and it doesn't slide off in the heat!!! The only area where it falls down and where I like the Better Skin better is a pump dispenser!! The twist cap revealing an open top bottle does get a little messy as pouring just the right amount on to your hand and not getting excess around the top!!

Eyes Lips Face Blush Brush
I bought this brush ages ago and after deciding that it wasn't my fav for blush it has hung around in my brush holder for  a long time and I am not sure why I picked it out but I have found this month that this brush is great for bronzer and great for highlight!!! Its pointed tip and angled sides means that you get accurate application of bronzer into the hollows of the cheeks to contour and the side of the tip is small but fluffy and great for picking up product to highlight the cheeks as well it has been my go to this month and I wish I found this out earlier!!

Boe Beauty Bronzer in #1 St Tropez
This was a random purchase when Boe was first released into Big W and I was intrigued to see if this cheaper makeup line was going to be any good but as usual I have so many other products on the go or waiting to be tried it kinda got pushed aside I think I tried it a couple of times but nothing to really form an opinion so in order to figure out if it stays or goes I put it in my makeup bag. Now I will say I was surprised by this it has a sheen/fine shimmer to it and in the pan it does look slightly orange but it is so smooth and blends so well and I have to say I have been using it to contour even with the shimmer. It gives a great glow to the skin and as a contour a great light but still defined face great for a no makeup look. Have been enjoying this it has spent most of the month in my makeup bag. Cannot wait to try more and as I have recently seen that this range is being expanded to a professional range I am interested to see whats on offer!!!

theBalm Cabana Boy
Despite being on of my most favourite blushes I do not use this to often. Sadly it was broken during transport and arrived to me partially smashed so it was a blush that I could only use at home as travelling with broken powder products usually ends in disaster!!! and I don't often do my makeup at home these days so it gets little use. However this month I have had a lot of day and night time weekend events so have been able to not only pick from my entire collection but bring out those products I can really only use at home!!! This deep raspberry pink gives such a gorgeous warm flush to the cheeks that I really enjoy,  it does require a light hand though as it is quite pigmented but its smooth and blends well lasting all day!!

Savvy by DB Luxury Liner in the shade Brilliant Bronze
This has been my go to eyeliner this month. So quick and easy to apply as it just glides on and paired with shadow or on its own (when I am really pressed for time) it gives great natural definition to the eyes. The formula is soft so it blends easily as well as applying without tugging it is great for creating a wing and once set your liner stays all day!!!

So that ends my September favourites, I hope you enjoyed this post and are ready for the new month until next time Happy Reading and Happy Shopping!!!

The 20 Beauty Questions Tag!!!

Hey Readers,
I hope this post finds you well. This week I thought I would post something a little bit different and mix my love of youtube with my obsession for blogging!! The 20 beauty questions tag is usually a youtube video that beauty youtubers often do for fun and I thought this would make a good blog post there is some interesting question some a little trickier to answer than others!!

1. What is the one product you'd grab if your house was on fire?
I think given the situation I would probably be too busy getting to safety rather than grabbing an item of my makeup collection so I will say my Lucas Paw Paw ointment I don't think I would rescue it before leaving the house but it definitely would be my first purchase I don't think I could live without this stuff!!! I use this as a lip treatment, on small cuts, pimples and any dry cracked skin its also good for scars.

2. Which beauty vlogger would you want to do your makeover?
I love so many beauty youtubers styles so I am going to cheat here and pick two!! The first is and Australian youtuber Jodi from GooRooBeauty she is not only down to earth, has the best makeup collection I have ever seen but her videos and makeup looks are amazing and I wish I was as good at doing my makeup as she is!!! The second is an international youtuber that I watch a lot of Sinead from The Makeup Chair again an amazing youtuber, love her videos and would love to see what makeup look she would choose for me!!

3. What celeb do people think you look like?
I don't think I really look like any celebrity really but if I had to choose (insert girl crush moment here) Keira Knightly we really look nothing a like but I love her look and often try and recreate her makeup looks!! I love how her makeup always looks effortless yet she has so much definition to her eyes and lips. I also love how she rocks the all natural look as well as a simple smoky eye.

4. What beauty product do you save for date night?
I don't really and  to be honest the last date night was impromptu/surprise on a Sunday night and I actually had no makeup on!!!Usually most are post a work day so my makeup is fairly simple and neutral. I never really go over the top with my makeup for a date night I prefer to just look like myself.

5. Which of your guy friends takes longer than you to get ready?
No I can't point the finger at one of my mates here it's definitely me that is always the one holding up getting out the door my fiancee now always tell me the time we have to leave by (which is always earlier than we need to leave) just so we get out of the house on time!!  (thank you to
https://www.pinterest.com/ for this photo)

6. If you could create your own miracle beauty product, what would it be?
A primer that makes all imperfections disappear!!! I would want something to make my uneven skin smooth, redness and dark circles fade, uneven skin tone evened out, and pores gone all with one product. I think I am asking too much!!!!

7. What's your best beauty tip?
Keeping all the things you need for a touch up in a snap lock bag. This not only makes it easy to find in a handbag but means that everything is in the one place and protects what ever you use to touch up ie Brushes. It also means you can transfer it easily between bags without forgetting something.

8. What beauty products do you love to splurge on?
Hands down has to be mascara and blush I can't help myself picking up something new and when either is on special or in a clearance bin no justification for purchase necessary!!!!

9. Which beauty vloggers would you bring on a shopping spree?
This would have to Fleur from FleurdeForce and Tati from Glamlifeguru. Fleur has amazing style when it comes to fashion (and makeup) but I would love to go clothes shopping with her!!! Tati  is amazing when it comes to getting a makeup bargain I have watched so many videos of her drugstore hauls and the bargains she gets with coupons!!!

10. What is your signature scent?
At the moment this is the original perfume from Roberto Cavalli I love this scent and I cannot stop wearing it!!

11. I am on an endless quest for the perfect _________.
At the moment foundation!! I am about to attend a couple of weddings as well as planning my own and I am on the hunt for the perfect foundation that not only makes me look fabulous but also is photo friendly.

12. How many beauty products does it take to get you ready?
12 if its just simple makeup for work but a night out more towards 15!!!!

13. What lipstick/lip gloss is in your purse right now?
Two the Nivea Repair and Protection lipbalm and Nyx Butter Gloss in the shade Tiramisu. Quick simple no mirror required to apply products!! The butter gloss is also great for glamming up your makeup when you have not time to change anything else!!

14. Who is your celebrity beauty icon?
I take inspiration from everywhere so no idea really.

15. Name the beauty brand you'd most love to be a spokesperson for?
Would have to say Chi Chi as you know I am obsessed with their shadow palettes and I love their BB cream would love to collaborate with them on new products such as matte blushes and a pressed powder line!! They are an Australian brand and they only test products on family and friends!!!

16. What's your current nail polish?
My most recent purchase are two polishes from the La Colors Color Craze collection Absolute is a neon pink and Fruity is a clear with a neon glitter!!

17. Fave mascara right now?
Covergirl LashBlast Fusion, I have been a fan of Covergirl Mascaras since they brought out clump crusher which to this day I still love but I bought the lash fusion as I wanted to try the lengthening and volumising formula in one as well as seeing what a water proof mascara formula was like it does what it says and at the moment its my go to!!

18. The last thing you bought at Sephora?
Since Sephora isn't in Australia just yet!!! I will change this to Priceline!! Surprisingly my last purchase was hair care not makeup!! It's the OGX shampoo and conditioner this is the most expensive hair care products I have ever purchased but they make my hair feel so soft, silky and healthy without my hair being unmanageable and I find that on that third day my hairs ready to be washed again it needs washing but doesn't look like I haven't washed it in a week!!!

19. I try never to be seen without wearing _______.
This used to be mascara I never felt right without it but after a couple of no makeup days at work its now a medium coverage BB cream or foundation!! I enjoy knowing that all my imperfections are covered and I am not constantly fielding the statements you look tired (no my dark circles are hereditary) or have you been crying?? (no the redness around my nose and cheeks is my natural flush!!) Ahhh the beauty of makeup!!! Don't get me wrong if its the weekend what you see is what you get but weekdays I just prefer to look put together and professional.

20. What's one beauty product you'd always recommend?
I'm cheating here too!!! If your an oily combo babe like me it has to be the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, I love the finish it gives to any base but also how it keeps the shine line at bay!! Generally though the first product I think of would be Covergirl's Clump Crusher mascara its such a great all round mascara the brown or black are just a dream to use.

So that ends the 20 beauty questions!! This its been lots of fun putting this together so I hope you really enjoyed this one and if you have a blog I tag you to answer these ones and send me a link below of your post!! Until my next post Happy reading and Happy Shopping!!

My quickest makeup look!!!

Hey Readers,
I hope this post finds you well. The last couple of weeks have seen me having to change up my usual makeup routine. My work shifts have changed to early mornings and I no longer have my usual amount of time to get my makeup done. I spend most of the time before work travelling so products that are quick, easy to apply and don't require a lot of brushes (I admit I am sometimes doing my makeup on the train or bus) while still keep me looking polished have become my go to!!!

Maybelline New York Super Stay 24hr Makeup in the shade Natural Beige
This is a recent purchase and a new favourite as I literally have loved this since my first try.  A medium to full coverage foundation that no matter what brush you use just glides on, buffs into the skin, builds and blends with ease. It covers redness, dark circles (great for when you have no time for concealer) and the best bit it that it lasts all day. I cannot tell you how much of a joy this makeup is to apply and being so easy it cuts down makeup application time by half!!

Physicans Formula Nude Wear Touch of Glow in Nude Glow
This concealer and highlighter in one is still my go to for brightening under the eyes but also adding a soft highlight to the cheeks. Being a cream product its easily blended into the skin and gives a natural glow without the shimmer and glitter.

Essence Mosaic Compact Powder in 01 Sunkissed Beauty.
This compact is one I often pick up when I need a good multi tasking powder. Not only do I love using this with a fluffy brush for an all over glow, no need for extra blush. I also love using it with a smaller brush for contouring. While you can see glitter in the pan I have never felt it transfers onto the face so I also use it to set makeup as well particularly under eye concealer.

Covergirl Smoky Shadow Blast in the shade Bronze Fire
This double ended cream shadow duo is the perfect go to when you have no time to pull out a shadow palette and brushes. Step one is a champagne gold that is a great neutral overall lid colour, Step two is a bronze copper that added to the outer V and into the crease gives great definition to the eyes the pointed tip also allows it to be used as a quick liner for both the upper and lower lash line. Paired together to create a simple two tone eye look which can be as simple or smoky as you like or using one side all over the lid for a single shadow look with a little bit of liner and mascara. I love having a quick and simple eye look at my finger tips!! Its also easily blended out with you fingers but I do find that it requires primer to get longevity.

Savvy by DB Luxury Liner in Brilliant Bronze
This is the ultimate glide on pencil that is so quick and easy to use, I have not found a creamier or easier to use liner to date. Brilliant Bronze is a deep natural looking brown that while has a sheen in the light gives amazing natural definition to the eyes. Smooth and creamy its easily blended out and once in place it does stay all day.

Covergirl Lashblast Fushion
As a general rule I always have more than one mascara in my makeup bag at any one time and while I do like to give all of them a turn its some are more fuss free than others so when I am particularly pressed for time this is the one I find I reach for the most!! The smaller rubber bristles easily catch the lashes giving great volume and definition and one coat is enough it doesn't clump or flake and it stays all day!! This is a water proof version but I don't find it hard to get off perfect!!

So that ends the line up for the quickest makeup look I think I have worn in a long time!!! I hope you enjoyed it and have inspiration for the next time you need a quick easy look on the go!! Until then happy reading and happy shopping.

No Time to Shine Skin Care Edition

Hey Readers,
Hope this post finds you well. I make it no secret that I have oily/combination skin and that I am constantly battling the shine line down the middle of my face. It's the reason most foundations don't last on me and the reason I have to constantly think about touch ups during the day. Well I have recently stumbled upon some skin care products that seem to be keeping the shine at bay and I thought I would take the time to tell you so if you are in the same boat you can try it for yourself. It definitely  helps my makeup last longer and reduce the amount of touch ups required!! As I try out more and more of these products I do say  these will change as I have no doubt I will find more that suit but for now these are the ones I am favouring!!!

Cleansers
I never thought that keeping the shine at bay could be helped by simply changing up my cleanser. It makes sense now but it just had never occurred to me before. These cleansers  I switch between at the moment definitely have helped reduce the daily shine. My skin is less oily, it takes longer for the shine to appear and its definitely clearer.

Innoxa Skin+Clear Oil Free Clarifying Cleanser For Oily and Acne Prone Skin.
I picked this up when Innoxa where having a 50% off online sale. I had put the moisturiser of this line in my basket and thought well for 50% off may as well see how the cleanser goes. For me the synopsis on the packaging ticked all the boxes saying it is formulated to clear pores, reduce shine and breakouts. The formula contains Innoxa's tradmarked AC Net which targets the cause of breakouts, reduces appearance of excess oil and improves appearance of the skin tone. Combined with witch hazel to tone, refresh and purify the skin. It took a little bit to get used to at first the product itself is clear and quite runny and while it foams up on the skin it didn't really feel like it was doing anything. It was only after a couple of days that I realised that my skin was feeling less oily and post cleansing felt fresh and smooth. I experimented a little changing back to my old cleanser to see if it really made a difference and within a day I could see the shine line forming. So back to this I went and almost instantly my makeup was lasting longer and my skin was looking better.

Formula 10.0.6 Absolute Dream Clean Creamy Foaming Cleanser
This was apart of three products from Formula10.0.6 that I won in an Instagram competition at the start of the year once again it was really the moisturiser I was after but I have since fallen for the cleanser as well. This is a really soft and creamy cleanser that removes makeup and impurities as well as defending against breakouts. Using cucumber and grape seed to freshens, invigorate and soothe the skin. While it doesn't claim to have any mattifying qualities I have definitely noticed a change in the oil production of my skin post use. Even when I switch between this and the Innoxa my skin is still soft, fresh and clear. Its a thick creamy formula that foams really well and feels soft and smooth on the skin its so gentle and my face feels so great after.

Olay Fresh Effects Shine Shine Go Away Shine Minimizing Cleanser
This is a sample size of the cleanser from this line that was a part of a pack of Olay products I bought. I was a little apprehensive at first given I haven't used a lot of Olay skin care before and when I squeezed the tube to reveal a greyish coloured cream I wasn't sure of what the results would be. Surprisingly it works and if I didn't have other products to try I would probably buy the full size!! It contains Koalin Clay which is the active ingredient that helps lift impurities and keep the shine at bay. I do enjoy using this one it foams well and is a great everday cleanser.

Moisturisers

OnShe Red Rice Mattifying Lotion
I no longer use this one and I'll tell you the reason why soon but I include it as this is the moisturiser that started me on the path to using products that helped reduce shine. Introduced to this via Bellabox I was intrigued use after use how it kept the shine at bay. Its such a light, quick drying absorbing and drying lotion that didn't feel like it was there let alone doing anything. I found it really helped keep the shine at bay and I loved that it did that and included an SPF 15. Now I am not sure if its the inclusion of the SPF or just the moisturiser itself but I found after a while that it didn't last a long time I couldn't get a whole day without the shine line coming back and I found that because of that my makeup during the day would slowly be degraded and I ended up have to reapply in order to get a few extra hours out of my makeup. It the sole reason I do not use this one anymore.

Garnier Moisture Match Mattifying Fresh Cream
This was my second try at a mattfying cream and I picked it up during a sale at Priceline. I really had no idea how it would go but I really enjoy using it. A little thicker than the red rice lotion, I feel dry skin patches and skin overall is better hydrated. It still absorbs quickly and is powder light on the skin. I most definitely get a full no shine day post application.

Formula 10.0.6 Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil Free Moisturizer
This is my current pick at the moment and your probably sick of seeing in my instagram pics but it really hasn't left my cosmetics bag since I opened it and I use it everyday. Before I won this I had looked at it in priceline, read blog post raving about it and when it arrived I couldn't wait to finish my Garnier lotion before I opened it. It's the perfect consistency not to light or heavy and a little bit goes a long way, it hydrates as well as smooths the skin. Making for a great makeup base as well as everyday moisturiser. Ingredients include guarana, vitamin B3, salicylic acid to rechanrge the skin, help prevent excess oil, nourish and balance. A really great products I definitely get a full day shine free with this its really an easy and great product to use.

So that ends my first no time to shine post. I hope you have enjoyed reading this one I do feel that these products will change so I will update this as I find more products, I also want to tell you about the other shine free products that I use regularly as well so look out for that coming soon!!! If you have any suggestions of products I should try please comment below or on my Instagram!! Until next time Happy Reading and Happy Shopping!!!
