January Favorites!!!

Hey Readers and Welcome to my January Favorites the first for 2013!! WOW I love this time of the month!! It may come as no surprise to everyone but I do have a slight makeup related addiction to you tube videos and its at this time in the month that videos start to emerge of all beauty guru's favs. I love watching them seeing what products work and what doesn't as well as the favoured items that everyone seems to love!!! Since the weather here in QLD has been so poor I decided to brighten up the weekend by publishing my favorites for the month. Hope you enjoy!!

Makeup

Carmex Moisture Plus Lipbalm in Original Flavour
This is a staple in my handbag and despite the $8.99 price tag (quite expensive for a lip balm i thought) like its packaging this stuff is gold!! I used to religously use the original pot formulation at night before bed but its tingle sensation I found too much during the day. So imagine my happiness when carmex released this!! Its got the tingle of the original formulation with a little bit of gloss all packaged in a slim line twist up tube gone are my dry lips and I get gloss minus the stickiness win win!!!

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream Combination to Oily Skin in the shade light
Now you've probably heard a million ladies talk about this before and if you follow me on instagram (Makeupscience) you will have already seen my mini review so ill try no to go on too much...BUT I just had to include it. This truly is miracle stuff and I swear this light colour matches most skin tones. It blends really well and whether using on its own or under powder I always look natural and never cakey I also get a good six hours of flawlessness before I'm shiny and need to touch up!! It also goes on so easily application with brush or fingers its only a couple of minutes if that till flawless skin is achieved!!! You can also pick this up in Priceline, Woolworths, Coles, Big W for generally under $12 depending on skincare sales and one tube lasts a fair while.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Light
Now like the Garnier BB cream you probably have already heard about this product but once again I had to include it. I have always had dark circles and pigmentation around my eyes its inherited and something I had learned to live with. But naturally it is also the first thing to be covered when I put on make up. I was a little sceptical after seeing many you tubers rave that this would make a difference. But after trying many other concealers  the yellow, purple, green, peach correctors etc etc I decided to give this a go that and I found it discounted to $8 which after seeing it for nearly $15 I thought was a good deal. Again amazing product my dark circles are gone, the under eye area is also brightened and it blends well and doesn't fade over time. I defiantly recommend!!!

Australis Face-a-Holic in Touch and Glow
This is an all in one compact that (sadly are usually limited editions) give you all you need for a complete look. Touch and Glow is a combination of the HD blush in paparazzi perfect, the pressed powder in Deep Natural and an Illuminator. This is a great palette and while I do primarily only use it for the pressed powder which use over my BB cream, I love its versatility I always have everything I need for a complete look including a large mirror!!!!

Chi Chi Glamorous Bronzes Palette

Chi Chi brought these palettes out just in time for Christmas and after seeing rave reviews I went to Target and Myer to find. There are three in the collection Bronzes, Brights and Nudes I was only able to find the first two particularly after it was said that the Nudes palette is a good dupe for urban decay naked palette. Despite all of that I picked up the bronzes as I do love a good neutral palette and the brights as I want to experiment with the brighter colours and I was particularly interested in the additions of the red/burgundy colours to the bronzes one as well. I have used it all month its reasonable quality and by that I do feel they need an eye primer to last all day but its really the versatility of this palette that makes it shine all colours go together, blend well and don't crease and you can create any look you want. I have swatched my four favorites for the pic below.

Accessories

Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman Brushes
I was in desperate need to buy some decent makeup brushes and really wanted not to have to spend a lot of money so it was the introduction to iherb.com that these brushes came to be mine. If you haven't heard of iherb they basically sell all sorts of things on line mostly natural products and supplements as well as cosmetic lines such as physicans formula, everday minerals and brushes including real techniques and eco tools beauty is (ha ha) your getting it at resonable prices with discounts if you spend over $40 and shipping is around $10 they also ship through DHL which means its resonable time frames and tracking is available. Of all the brushes I bought the three that stand out are the Expert Face Brush, the deluxe crease brush and the accent brush. The Expert face brush is soft and just the perfect size for me to get in under my eyes blending both concealar and foundation as well as around my nose stipple or swirling you get a flawless look in seconds. The crease brush again perfect size to blend shadow into the crease and but soft enough to blend colour in the outer V. The accent brush of course designed for the inner corner but I also love it to line the upper lash line with black shadow and add colour under the eyes as well.

Skin Care.

TanGo Tan Removal Cloth
This little blue cloth I relieved in a lusthaveit box during 2012 designed to remove fake tan from the skin without chemicals it also doubles to remove make up from the face no cleanser or remover required just add water. I admit I am lazy prefering to remove my makeup with makeup removing wipes as opposed to getting a cleanser/remover out. At the end of last year I had started to notice that eyeliner, mascara and even all my foundation wasn't being completley removed with the wipes and breakouts were starting to occur. This cloth removes EVERYTHING and just with water even gel and liquid eyeliner is gone in seconds I really have enjoyed using this cloth this month and my skin is alot clearer as a result.

So that is it for my January favorites hope it wasn't too long and you enjoyed the read. Sorry this was a predominatly makeup but skin care (apart from the tango cloth) and hair care have been inconsistent with nothing really standing out!!!
Hope the new year finds you well
Ever.
