I hope this post finds you well!!! Have been wanting to post this for the longest time but after collecting all the products I wanted to talk about together I realised that most of them I have raved/talked about over and over again. So for those of you that read my posts often I felt you would most likely find it boring but I can't get the want to post this post out of my head so today I am here posting (finally) the Ride or Die Tag.
If you haven't heard of this Tag before it was created by youtuber Jaclyn Hill and its centres around the products you would class as your all time favourites, holly grail's, your desert island picks. The products that if there was only one product you could use forever more this would be it. These products are the ones that work first time, every time and that don't ever fail you. Iv'e really enjoyed watching these videos and reading others posts so I wanted to do this myself. So here we go!!!!!
Primer
Rimmel #Insta Flawless 006 Light Medium
In terms of primers and skin perfectors this is the closest I have come to a holly grail so far and to be honest I have no idea how it does what it does but it does it amazingly. While it doesn't keep me matte, hide my pores or give an huge amount coverage it just perfects the skin instantly (ha ha). Insta flawless evens out my skin tone, reduces the appearance of my redness and gives a slight but healthy glow to the skin that's not shimmery.
Concealer
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser Light and Medium
For me when it comes to concealers in my collection they usually are divided into ones that highlight and ones that hide. Amazingly this concealer formula does both. The Medium shade is the best when it comes to hiding redness and blemishes while the light is great for highlighting and as you would expect its perfect for hiding dark under eye circles. When the dark circles under my eyes are in need of camouflage I start with the medium shade to hide and use the light shade to highlight!! The formula of this concealer isn't to light or to thick and it applies easily and blends effortlessly into the skin. It also never seems to cake or crease either.
Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous 210 Medium Beige
Originally I thought choosing one foundation for this tag would be hard but when I opened my foundation draw I picked this up instantly. This medium coverage foundation has been a go to since the day I first tried it. It applies smoothly, blends seamlessly and lasts all day despite the oiliness of my combo skin. It does the job first time, every time and its never left me looking cakey or orange or looking like a hot mess. Perfect!!
Youngblood Loose Mineral Powder foundation
When it comes to makeup lasting all day with minimal touch ups and skin looking smooth and flawless. This is my Ride or Die when it comes to setting my makeup. Not only does it give extra coverage and smooth the skin. It also helps to keep my shinny T zone at bay and being a loose powder I love that you can apply a light dusting with a fluffy brush or use a dense flat top kabuki to amp up the coverage.
Bronzer/Contour
Bourjois Delice de Soleil 12 Fair Medium
My ultimate bronzer/contour I cannot live without this one and no other bronzer or contour palette shade so far compares. The fact that I can be use it as both a bronzer to warm the face and contour to sculpt the cheeks and face is the sole reason this is my ride or die. The perfect shade for my skin tone and the easiest product to use always applying perfectly and blending beautifully and never looks orange!!! I know its not the prettiest looking bronzer but its perfect for me.
Blush/Highlighter
The Balm Cabana Boy and Hot Mama
Now I know its a little bit cheeky!! (ha ha) including two product for this category particularly given I have already included two concealers but I am going to justify this by saying that one of these blushes also doubles as a highlighter and I couldn't decide on one!!
Cabana Boy is the perfect berry shade and I have gone through a lot of this year feeling that pink/berry toned shade blushes don't really suit me. This blush always looks beautiful on. I love the flush it give to the cheeks particularly in the cooler months. As you can see in this photo its well loved I was devastated the day I dropped and broke it but its still usable you only need a tiny amount anyway its so pigmented. Applies smooth and blends well.
Hot Mama
I do not know what it is about this peachy pink blush but it is just gorgeous in the pan and on the cheeks. Its stunning every single time you apply and it never fails to make feel beautiful. The gold shimmer that runs though it means its a great highlighter as well. I never feel that makeup (particularly for a special event) is complete without it.
Eyeshadow
Chi Chi Glamorous Nudes Eyeshadow Palette
The perfect neutral palette. I have not found a palette that does the same as this. To be able to create any look something for everyday, something that is work appropriate, special occasion, matte, shimmer from one palette. As well as being compact and perfect to travel with. They apply easily, blend and build beautifully what more could a girl ask for!!!
Eyeliner
Bloom Cosmetics Eye Definer Dark Brown
I have raved about this eyeliner over and over it just never fails to deliver the perfect line. The product is smooth, creamy and pigmented it applies easily and does blend well but at the same time never fades. I have always preferred the definition brown liner gives over black and I have never found a black liner nor another brown liner that performs the same as this one does.
Mascara
Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara
Whether its a natural lash or dramatic lash I am going for this mascara delivers. I love the fact you can get the lash look you want all from the same mascara all because you can build without having it clump!! One coat gives me a natural my lashes but better look. But I love layering really combing through the lashes building and creating a fanned out and defined lash look. No clumps, no product build up and lashes stay soft fluttery.
Elf Makeup and Set Spray
This is a must have when it comes to makeup lasting all day/all night. I love because its light on the skin, doesn't have an overpowering scent doesn't leave you shiny and makes you finished makeup look flawless.
